Minimising cattle abortion - free farmers meeting in Llandissilio
Infertility and abortions in cattle are two of the greatest problems the cattle breeder faces. There are multiple causes and detection of abortions in a herd can vary significantly depending on the husbandry system and calving pattern.
At this meeting Dr Peter Nettleton and Dr Frank Katzer from Moredun will highlight what is known about some of more common forms of infectious abortion including IBR, BVD, Leptospirosis and Neosporosis and how they can be controlled and, in some cases, eradicated. They will be joined by Roger Daniel from AHVLA Carmarthen who will give details of what problems are an issue in the local area and explain the importance of securing a definate diagnosis.
